With the new year in full swing, we continue to make speedy progress on our 1961 Giulietta Spider. Last week, both the outer sills (rockers) as well as the front cross members were completed.
Although, the cross members had been installed earlier during the floor work installation – the lower covers were welded in place after these were reinforced with an extra brace in the middle of the cross member.
The additional brace support inside the front cross members provides a much needed strength to these components. As we all know, it has been a very common place to support the car when it is placed on a two pole lift thus, resulting in damage to the cross members.
I have a number of additional photos that will be added during the week. Next time, I will be adding photos and description of the Giulietta Spider door repairs. As for the installation time, we spent approximately about 27 hrs including fitting additional and reinforcements to the jack points as well as covering the cross members.
