I found a 1937 Packard 120 originally advertised as a 1936 in California that might be the car; Very nice and clean car.
It has been in the family since the early 1980’s when purchased by the
father and daughter kept the car for number of years.

Great looking car. The original engine of a 1937 Packard 120 was a 282 cu. In. straight 8 with 120 HP. It should be a perfect car for the Peking to Paris Rally. Good luck.
