Update: AR1493E*06611 – Trunk Floor

All of the wiring harness work, the unusual Texas cold winter and other family and business affairs  have been keeping me from maintaining steady progress on Sprint 06611 sheet metal work.

Removing, making a trunk floor from a flat sheet of metal, and installing the floor in the car took a lot more work and time than I expected. The saying, “The devil is in the details” could not be more of a true statement.  But, we are almost there….

We ultimately decided to make the floor pan into two separate pieces rather than attempting to install the floor as one single piece. This decision was made easier given that the Sprint Veloce has the overflow pipe from the gas tank running vertically along the floor.  I am hoping for smooth sailing from this point onward….  So I hope. “BTW”, the spot welder does make all the difference in the world. It was money well spent.
