Update: AR1493E*06611 – Rear Metal Work

We continue to make headway on E06611 and as of last weekend most of all the vehicle’s rear metal work has been completed.  We had to cut the lower section of the trunk lid and replace it with a new sheet metal panel as well as repaired the rust damage on the trunk lower frame.

Since there are another 7 Sprints in the stable and all with rusted lower frames we decided to make a metal template to form new Sprint trunk frames for the other cars.

I am also very excited that after an exhausting search I have come across a very good spot welder needed to duplicate the spot welds on the panels. The next step is to acquire a pan box break and a good metal shear.
