Peking to Paris 2016 – The search for a Packard continues

We were unable to secure a high bid on the 1936 Packard in Maryland.  The bidding ended at $58,200 plus buyer’s premium.  There where a few others who where quite surprised at the final result – higher than anticipated.

After searching all the usual places such as Hemmings Motor News, eBay, local and national club news letters we went to the Mecun auction in Dallas today to see a 1938 convertible Packard.

Since my ideal car for the event would be an open car I registered to bid on the car.  When the car was rolled through the auction block the bidding went too high too fast and I was out before I even knew it.

The search continues…
